About EconForward
EconForward is an independent editorial project that translates the machinery of the global economy into the language of daily life. We take the numbers that move markets and policy — the rent on a lease, the price of a gallon of gas, the interest rate on a credit card — and explain what they mean, where they come from, and why they change. Our goal is simple: financial agency shouldn't require a finance degree.
EconForward is built for the curious generalist: the renter wondering why housing outpaced wages, the small-business owner decoding a Federal Reserve press release, the student opening their first credit-card statement, and the voter trying to tell a factual claim from an opinion. Every concept is written to be understood in the time it takes to drink a coffee — sourced, neutral, and connected to the prices people actually pay.
EconForward is produced by a small editorial team of writers and researchers with backgrounds in economics, public policy, and data journalism. We publish across three desks — Policy & Current Issues, Behavioral Economics, and Economics 101 — and we separate explanation from opinion on every page, because the first step to making good decisions is knowing which is which.
Every figure links to a public source — Census, BLS, Fed FRED.
Facts and opinions are labeled separately on every page.
Free to read. Illustrative figures for education, not financial advice.
